Pembagian kata ganti kepemilikan juga bisa dibagi menjadi bentuk tunggal dan jamak. Kata ganti kepemilikan tunggal terdiri dari Mine, yours, hers, his, dan theirs. Kata theirs bisa digunakan sebagai kepemilikan tunggal jika gender subjek tidak diketahui atau bersikap gender netral.

Penggunaan Possessive Pronoun
Possessive pronoun digunakan ketika object of possession diketahui berdasarkan konteks.
Biasanya ada bagian pendahulu atau antecedent, singular atau plural, yang berhubungan dengan object of possession tersebut. Contoh:
- My brother’s study table was pink. Mine was light blue.
- I like my job. Do you like yours?
- Whose wallet is this? It’s hers.
- Those aren’t our new uniforms. Those are theirs.

Bisa dilihat bahwa tidak ada penyebutan objek setelah kata ganti, namun makna dari kalimat tidak berubah dan tetap dimengerti oleh lawan bicara.
